The vintage cars rolled out from the Nordic Center in Seefeld to kick off their first competitive stage. Thursday’s winner: Mora\/Brescianini with Jaguar XK 120. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Seefeld in Tirol, 11 September 2025 \u2013 Spectators gathered at the start of the classic car competition in the Seefeld Sports Arena, which previously hosted the Winter Olympics and the Nordic World Ski Championships. On Thursday, 80 participants received their roadbooks and attended the drivers’ meeting, where they were briefed on the coming days. Regularity specialists and rookies from Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria secured the exclusive starting places for the 1000 Miglia Warm Up Austria 2025. <\/p>\n

Now in its second year, the event features rare cars full of patina that are seldom seen in Austria. The illustrious entries include historically valuable vehicles dating from 1928 to 1979, including 30 cars from the 1000 Miglia era and the period thereafter up to the late 1970s, as well as ten additional vehicles in the Porsche Challenge. Fourteen different manufacturers are represented, including major Italian brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat. Representing England are Jaguar, Austin Healey, MG and Triumph. German sports cars from Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and VW are also present. An exotic addition to the starting field is the American Corvette C2 (built in 1963), which will be driven by Remco Westermann and Riekje Middelburg. Emiel Putman and Danielle Schiphorst are driving the oldest vehicle this year, bearing start number 1: a 1928 Lancia Tipo 223. As well as classics such as the Porsche 356, Jaguar XK120, Triumph TR3 and Mercedes 190 SL, fans can look forward to more recent models like the Ferrari 308 GTS. In the Porsche Challenge, a 1990 Porsche 964 will compete against several 911 convertibles from the latest series, as well as a powerful Porsche 911 GT3 RS. <\/p>\n

Today, the participants began their three-day tour of Tyrol, the Salzburg region and neighbouring Germany in dry, late-summer weather. The first challenging time trial as part of the Seefeld Trophy took place on the narrow, winding trails of the facility. This over-100-kilometre stage then took participants via K\u00fchtai to the \u00d6tztal Valley, and back to the finish in Seefeld’s village square via Telfs. Technical problems soon arose; for example, Daniele Brida and Walter Moladori had to stop their Triumph TR3 due to a defective battery. Fortunately, the service car from event partner Houtkamp Collection arrived promptly, enabling them to continue. Massimiliano Mora and Osvaldo Brescianini achieved the lowest penalty score in the time trials and average speed tests in their 1952 Jaguar XK 120. Last year’s winner, John Houtkamp, came second. The first major stage starts tomorrow at 8:00 at the Alpin Resort Sacher in Seefeld and finishes at 15:55 in front of the town hall in Saalfelden, SalzburgerLand. <\/p>\n
